It’s no longer news that the goalkeeping department of the Super Eagles is currently in shambles, with first choice goalie Francis Uzoho committing numerous blunders during matches.

Uzoho’s inconsistency in goal, has left the fans with no more option than to clamour for the integration of Chiamaka in the Super Eagles. According to the concerned fans, the Super Falcons assistant Captain will help to restore consistency in goal.

The fans call became more intense on Wednesday, after Chiamaka kept a clean-sheet as her Paris FC women’s team defeated VFL Wolfsburg to reach a UEFA women’s Champions League group stages.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro, in a recent interview stressed that goalkeepers at his disposal are world class. But they’re no longer safe and comfortable playing for Nigeria, due to the attacks from supporters at a slightest mistake.

“When I arrived here, I remember I was told to change the goalkeeper. I spoke with all of them, No one feels comfortable because everybody attacked them,” the 63-year-old said.

“I like our players, when they make mistakes it is my responsibility.

“The goalkeepers never play free or calm because of the people. I don’t know why they attack the goalkeepers every time.”

Speaking further in defense of his goalkeepers, Peseiro had queried why supporters don’t call out strikers who sometimes miss clear goal-scoring opportunities.
