According to a Facebook user, Raymond Idongesit, FIFA is “very subtle with the selectio.” He stressed that, the football body only entertains exceptionally good players of African extraction for the award; while also agreeing they are not evenly selected.

“They are very subtle with the selection… Following their act you will agree with me that you need to be exceptionally good as an African before they can consider including you in their selection and for you to merit their favour…. Never evenly” Raymond Idongesit reacted to a Facebook post.

Meanwhile, Ma Azubuike, highlighted that selections are made based on last season’s performances. He opined that, if Chiamaka Nnadozie can maintain her form in the new season, she will stand a chance.

“This is assessed based on last season’s performances. If she continues to improve this year, she might make it next,” Ma Azubuike said on Facebook.

“I Like Your Point Of Argument. But You Must Get To Quarter Finals Of A Tournament Before The Issue Of Award Comes In. Unless No Other Person Outperform You. For Instance When A Player With The Highest Goal Scored In A Tournament Played Only Group Matches Or Fewer Matches. But He/She Cannot Get The Player Of The Tournament,” Daniel Chimezie Obiagwu stated in his opinion.

Another user, King Francis, in what looked like a legal advise, had asked Nigerians to approach the court of law.
