A former AC Milan defender and captain Paolo Maldini opens up on Milan’s last summer transfer signings that involved Samuel Chukwueze, Reuben Loftus-Cheek and Christian Pulisic npflupdates.com reports.
Maldini said signing Chuwkueze and other players isn’t necessary at the time they joined the former Serie A champions last August.

Chukwueze joined AC Milan from Villarreal CF where he enjoyed a decade of football success, winning a UEFA Europa League title, amongst others.
But the former Golden Eaglets winger is yet to live up to expectations after the club coughed out a whooping €30M to get his signature.
During his as a Director at Milan, Maldini brought in some outstanding players; such players include: Theo Hernandez, Rafael Leao, Mike Maignan and Fikayo Tomori.

Maldini in a recent interview with Italian daily La Republica opened up about his dismissal from Milan as a Director on June 5.
According to the Italian legend Samuel is yet to justify the humongous the fortune spent on him.
“There was no need to sign Loftus-Cheek, Pulisic and Chukwueze,” Maldini said as quoted by PUNCH Nigeria.
“You cannot compare the previous four transfer windows to the last one. Milan had different quality options unlike this summer.”
“I would like to point out that all the players who arrived were approved by me, nothing or no-one was ever imposed on me, also because I would’ve left the next day.”

In another story, Samuel Chukwueze is expected to make the final Super Eagles squad for the 2023 African Cup Of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast.
The AFCON is in less than 50 days and coach Jose Peseiro is already compiling name of players who he believes will be instrumental for his side at the biennial tournament.
