NFF moves to integrated Enyeama into the Super Eagles ahead of AFCON.

Nigerians are becoming anxious as Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro begin reconciliation of name(s) of players for the 2023 African Cup Of Nations (AFCON) npflupdates.com reports.

Jose Peseiro few months ago renewed his contract with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to continue as head coach of the Super Eagles. And per his statement, he agreed a short-term contract with the NFF so he can help Nigeria win its fourth AFCON title.

Coaches of the participating teams are expected to compile and send to Confederation of African Football (CAF) a provisional list. And this should be done before the end of the year; after which the main squad list will be forwarded.

While Peseiro is saddled with the responsibility of compiling the names, fans and former football internationals are calling for the inclusion of homebased players, experienced players in the national team.

Mikel Obi a former Super Eagles Captain, has called for the integration of some homebased players and older experienced players into the team. According to Mikel, the Super Eagles is made up of vibrant young players who’d need collaboration with the experienced players to maximize their output.

“We cannot afford to miss nor joke with our chances at the AFCON; we’re going for the fourth title,” NPFLUpdates in-house analyst Mr Best said in his analysis Saturday morning.

“Myself, and some other Nigerians, are anxious (about the list); but not to pile pressure on the coach. May God help us,” he concluded saying.

“I can’t wait to see Sadiq Umar partner Osimhen in Super Eagles attack at the AFCON. Also, Boniface should make the AFCON; I know it’d be a dream come true for him,” Jide told NPFLUpdates.

In another story, a former Super Eagles player Duke Udi is canvassing maximum support for embattled Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro.

According to Udi, drawing world cup qualifier matches isn’t enough to sack a coach; adding that Nigeria’s still on course for both competitions (AFCON and world cup).

“It’s too early to sack a coach because he drew two matches. He has not lost,” the former Shooting Stars player told BBC Sports Africa and quotes by Daily Post Nigeria.
