Dele Alampasu Talks about his Super Eagles suggestions

A Super Eagles goalkeeper Dele Alampasu has cried over the neglect by the coach of the senior national team.

Dele Alampasu born 24 December, 1996, is Super Eagles goalkeeper, but has not earned a national team call-up in years.

And according to the player, the officials of the S’Eagles knew about his qualities, and may be deliberately snubbing him.

He stated this in a recent interview with EaglesTracker, which was monitored by NPFLUpdates correspondent.

And in the words of the former Pieta Hotspur shot-stopper, any goalkeeper that’s not playing on the EPL isn’t considered.

Also, he spoke about his relationship with his former Golden Eaglets teammates. And according to him, they still enjoy cordial relationships.

Dele Alampasu Talks About His Football Journey In Europe:

“Yes, some of us are still friends. Not even some, all of us we still communicate,” Alampasu said when asked about his relationship with his Golden Eaglets teammates.

“But it may not be like the way we use to. Because we have many things to do outside football. Like our families, some are going to school. But we still keep communicating, but it’s once in a while.”

Speaking about his journey to Europe, Alampasu revealed he was at Liverpool with Taiwo Awoniyi. But some reasons, involving his agents he left for KRC Genk.

“After leaving Liverpool due to agent issues, I went to Genk in Belgium. But then, I had a ligament injury, and I got back(Nigeria). After I returned to Belgium, and it didn’t work out again.”

In a most shocking turn of event, Alampasu moved to Malta from FK Jelgava in the Latvian League. Revealing his experiences in the Maltese league, Alampasu said the stint was retrogressive one.

“Moving to Malta; the league is not what I think. Because, if you go where you’re 70% before and you’re finding yourself 40%.  Even when you were playing and making money. But it’s not what I want.”

“I don’t feel like I’m improving at all okay. It’s just like someone is from grace and coming back to grass. Because the training; if you train, or you don’t, you’re going to play. And I want a challenge,” he continued.

Super Eagles Knew My Qualities:

In his ambition and thought about the goalkeeping challenges facing the Super Eagles, Alampasu cried his abilities is being snubbed.

“You know the problem we have in Nigeria. If you’re not playing in the Premier League then you’re nobody in the national team. And that’s what they believe,” he retorted.

“They know my quality, but they’re just ignoring my side which me too I’m just doing my thing.”

Dele Alampasu is a former FIFA U-17 best goalkeeper. He won the FIFA U-17 world cup tournament with Nigeria in 2013.

He is currently contracted at a French National teamDura Jolois Football Club
