A former Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL, champions Enugu Rangers International has employer the services of Dietician ahead of the NPFL 2023/2024 season npflupdates.com reports.
Enugu Rangers International will hope to get the best out of its players once the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season kicks off.
Last season(2022/2023) the Enugu-based club ended without any trophy despite reaching the Federation Cup final. Under the tutelage of Coach Abdul Maikaba, Enugu Rangers came close to winning it’s first ever national Silverware since 2018; but we’re stopped by Bendel Insurance.
Insurance through a goal by striker Imade Osarenkhoe, won its first Federation Cup in over a decade.
With the change of both club’s Head Coach, and Chairman, Rangers are eager to make a mark and return to winning ways. Hence, the need of a nutritionist/dietician who will help check the nutrition of players.
According to a source who do not want his name in prints, the nutritionist Mrs Winifred Nwabunike, was charged with bringing the best in the boys in terms of their diet. And this may include abolishing the use and drinking of Cassava flakes(locally known as Garri) by players.
Some players in the local NPFL and grassroot footballers, drink Garri a lot especially during hot and dry season; citing it’s a source of energy. Just maybe, Mrs Winifred may put an end to that, and provide a better alternative.
