Eneyeam says he's ready to coach Nigeria

Former Super Eagles Captain Vincent Enyeama reveals he will visit the national team’s camp at the 2023 Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast npflupdates.com reports.

Speculations spread last week, with several media outlets(not NPFLUpdates) reporting that Enyeama may join Super Eagles UAE camp. This was after the former Enyimba FC goalkeeper commented on a post at Super Eagles official Instagram handle.

On the capacity the former Maccabi Tel Aviv shot-stopper will be joining the team, was however, not stated.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) through its Director of communication Ademola Olajire, have since rebuffed the claim of linking up with the 2013 AFCON winner.

“NFF has not offered Enyeama any role. People should stop the bruiting of this very fake news. It is annoying”, Mr. Ademola clarified when asked by a popular Nigerian media outlet.

“If there’s anything like that, there will be a statement from the NFF,” he rounded saying.

In the same pattern, Enyeama has now confirmed he will only visit Jose Peseiro’s team. He addressed that his comments under the post were just personal and nothing official.

“I haven’t been given any appointment by the NFF, neither was there any such discussion. That was only a personal comment, meaning I will visit them in camp when I attend the AFCON,” the former Olympique Lille shot-stopper said according to G.O.A.T and was quoted by Daily Post Nigeria.

“Any opportunity to encourage the lads, I use it,” he added.

Nigeria who won its third and last AFCON title in 2013, will hope to win a fourth title in Ivory Coast. The Super Eagles closest charge to the covetous prize was in 2019, when the team achieved a podium finish winning bronze medal.
