Super Eagles and Leicester City FC forward Kelechi Iheanacho, has been awarded the club’s Best Player for the 2022/2023 English Premier League season.
The Nigeria was presented with the award on Friday afternoon in a small ceremony. And the Nigeria international expressed his excitement on receiving the award.

In the just concluded 2022/2023 English Premier League season, Iheanacho has five league goals. And he also has five league assists to his name. Also, he scored on numerous occasions for Leicester City during English FA Cup matches.
Because of his goal-scoring prowess, the Nigeria international scored the decisive goals in wins over Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
And this is the first time the former Manchester City player will be winning the covetous prize.
Publishing the news about the award, Sports Journalist, Oluwashina Okeleji, took to his Twitter handle.
And at the micro-blogging app the journalist highlighted Iheanacho’s achievements with Leicester last season.

“Nigeria’s @67Kelechi Iheanacho has been awarded Leicester City’s Player of the Season for 2022-2023 after scoring 8 goals for the Foxes over the course of the past season including strikes ok n wins over Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Wolves,” he tweeted.

Recall, npflupdates reported how Kelechi Iheanacho expressed sadness over Leicester City relegation to the Skybet Championship.
Despite winning their their last game fixture against Westham, Leicester dropped to the championship, trailing behind survivors Everton FC.

Kelechi Iheanacho is expected to make the final Super Eagles’ squad for the AFCON 2024 qualifier against Sierra Leone.
Nigeria will engage the Lone Stars if Sierra Leone on June 18, 2023. Also, Iheanacho’s club teammate, midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, is expected to make the squad for the qualifier.
