“I’m Confused” Peseiro In Shock When Asked About Sadiq Umar’s Injury Controversy

Peseiro expressed excitement over the qucki recovery of Sadiq Umar, who was ruled out of the AFCON one day to the AFCON opener.

According to reports, Umar was injured and wouldn’t be fit most of the time at the 2023 Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) tournament. Hence, the former Almeria forward was subsequently replaced by Trabzonspor forward Paul Onuachu.

Shockingly, Umar was captured in a video released by Real Sociedad few days ago, where he was training. That alone sparked a lot of reactions from Nigerians, who became curious on how Umar was released by the AFCON squad.

Peseiro opens up about Sadiq Umar’s injury controversy

In a response from Real Sociedad, the Spanish outfit told EagleTrackers to verify more details about Umar’s medical report from the medical team of the NFF.

“The Nigerian Federation was the one who made the medical exam to Sadiq, you should ask them. He is now working to be ready as soon as possible,” club told EaglesTracker.

“We do not give any potential day to return with the injuries in the club.”

Even, the former AS Roma forward was listed in the club’s official squad for a Copa del Rey clash against Osasuna on Wednesday (today).

Peseiro in a pre-match press conference told reporters that he’s confused. According to the Portuguese tactician, it was the Nigeria medical team that said Umar is injured and will be out for about two weeks.

“I am confused as well, our team doctor said he would be out for 15 days. We write to the club, and the club said he should come immediately for assessment.

We held a meeting with him, and it was the last day to replace a player. So, we replaced him,” Peseiro said.
