“I’m The Best Man For Super Eagles ” American Coach Joins Race For Vacant Position

Top American coach Michael Nsien has joined the race to becoming the next Super Eagles head coach; npflupdates.com reports.

Recall the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) last week threw open the vacant coaching positions at the Super Eagles and Golden Eaglets departments.

According to the NFF, a passionate and proven football coaches are needed for the three-time African champions, and five-time world champions.

“Attention passionate and proven football coaches. The Nigeria Football Federation is seeking a visionary leader to lead our senior men’s national team, the mighty Super Eagles.

“This is your chance to lead a team steeped in history and guide them towards even greater glory on the international stage. Are you ready to answer the call?

“Here’s what we’re looking for in our next Super Eagles head coach. Top-tier qualifications: You’ll possess the necessary coaching qualifications to lead a national team.

“Elite Experience – proven experience managing football at the highest level is essential. A successful track record of leading teams to victories is a must while not mandatory, knowledge of African football will be a strong positive,” a circular from the NFF read Following José Peseiro’s exit.

American coach, Michael Nsien has given the football governing body the reason why he should be hired.

Nsien was raised in the United States and at a time had an active football career that lasted from 1999 to 2003. During this period, he played as a fullback for the University of Dayton. Scoring nine goals in 73 games in all competitions before his retirement.

Post retirment, he has served as an assistant coach at the US-based Tulsa Roughnecks and as the club’s head coach since December 2018.

What Michael Nsien said about the Super Eagles job

Currently, he’s the head coach of the United States Under-19 team.

“I am the best of both worlds. As a Nigerian-American, I have a passion for the Super Eagles, I also know the responsibilities that come with that position as head coach. I have experience working in an environment that spares no expense in technology, has top scouting infrastructure, and coaching collaboration from top to bottom”, NaijaNews quoted the 43-year-old American tactician as saying.

He added, “I know where we are at in Nigerian football and I know the gap that exists. I can bridge the gap and help us reach the level that we should be at in world football. It’s time to change course and move forward. I want to put smiles on the faces of our people.”

If the NFF fails to secure the services of a new gaffer before 22 of this method, then the Super Eagles will play it’s international friendly against Ghana and Mali without a permanent contracted head coach.
