Important Super Eagles Player Wants Ghana To Play With Love On Friday

Super Eagles defender, Chidozie Awaziem, canvasses for a good battle between Nigeria and the Ghana; npflupdates.com reports.

The Super Eagles and Ghana Black Stars will go head-to-head on Friday in an international friendly at Stade de Marrakech.

It’s no longer news that Nigeria and Ghana are arch rivals when it comes to sports, especially in football. Ghana Black Stars have won the covetous AFCON prize four times, while Nigeria has only three titles.

However, the Boavista ace who has played sparingly for the Super Eagles over the past 15 months; making only three appearances, two during friendlies and one at the recently concluded Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

Awaziem tip Super Eagles to beat Ghana in first 2024 friendly

Despite not having enough game time to impress and register himself as the best defender of his era, the 27-year-old has yet been invited to the squad for Nigeria’s first friendly in 2024.

“Honestly, we are planning to have a good game against Ghana. We know the rivalry between Nigeria and Ghana but we are all prepared and focused for the game,” the former CD Leganes defender said.

He added, “Football is not a game of fight. It is a sport, we are just going there to play, we are not going there to fight each other.

“We all are football players and we all want to fight for our country. I mean, it is going to be a wonderful game between Nigeria and Ghana.”

The Boavista center-back further described how it is to train under Super Eagles interim gaffer, George. According to the former Hadjuk Split player, it was an amazing experience.

“It has been wonderful, amazing, the atmosphere is quiet good, the weather the condition is good and we are all focused on the friendly games ahead and we are all getting along with our new coach,” Awaziem remarked.

“I think basically he knows everything about the team, he has been part of us, so it is not going to be difficult for him to lead the team.

“He is doing amazingly well with the training sessions and I hope we are going to have a good run with him.”

Dessers endured sometime away from the national, with his saddest moment being losing out on the AFCON tournament in Cote d’Ivoire.

“I am a very ambitious person and I won’t lie | felt really hurt when I missed out on a spot in the team for the AFCON.

“But now that l am here making the best of it is what matters most. It’s not easy getting to play for Nigeria because of the options available but when an opening like this happens then you hav to be ready to take it.
