Coach of the Super Eagles, Jose Peseiro has expressed excitement and fulfilment following Super Eagles victory against Sao Tome and Principe npflupdates.com reports.
Super Eagles on Sunday walloped the True Parrots of Sao Tome and Principe in its dead-rubber AFCON qualifier fixture.
A hat-trick from Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, helped the national team beat it’s opponent. Also, goals from Samuel Chukwueze, Taiwo Awoniyi and Ademola Lookman ensured Nigeria earn a comfortable 6-0 victory.
Addressing the media the game, Jose Peseiro appreciated the indigenous people of Uyo, AkwaIbom state. According to Peseiro, the indigenous people are a fantastic people with lots of love.

“I’ll like to say congratulations to the people and Government of AkwaIbom. Because I see today was a fantastic atmosphere,” Peseiro was quoted by Vanguard Nigeria.
“The fans were fantastic today, I say thank you. I like the people here, everything provided for us was good.”
Speaking further, the former Sporting CP gaffer, revealed that the players played for him. And also with a lot of commitment; and was proud because he assembled them.
“Our players played with maximum commitment,” he continued.
Recall Peseiro had taken a pay-cut in his salary so he can be able to manage the Super Eagles. Speculations spread after his contract expired last month that contract talks had broken down. And he may no longer manage the senior national team for failing to reach a resolution with the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.
“They want to play for me, I assembled them to win AFCON Cup and today they have shown good commitment in their play,” he said.
“Normally if you play against a team that is not strong everybody relax, but today they did not relax. It is fantastic game by the players, 6-0 is very good,” he added.
Meanwhile, Ndidi who spoke on behalf of other players, admitted that the score line will motivate them in future competitions.
According to the Leicester City’s midfielder, winning a game gives team more confidence. Which is actually good as it will help them prepare for bigger future competitions.
“Of course when you win a game it gives you more confidence,” Ndidi said.
“It is actually a good game that will give us more confidence for the next game of world cup qualifier. Of course 6-0 is good confidence for next game.”

Jose Peseiro will lead the Super Eagles’ next outing against Lesotho in a 2026 FIFA world cup tournament qualifier on November 13.
