The Nigeria Football Federation NFF, receives the FIFA prize money for the 2023 FIFA women’s world cup tournament in Australia and New Zealand npflupdates.com reports.

The Nigeria Football Federation NFF, under the leadership of Ibrahim Musa Gusau, has received the prize money for the Super Falcons that played at the 2023 FIFA women’s world cup.
Nigeria’s Super Falcons participated at the 2023 FIFA women’s World Cup tournament; and achieved history by remaining unbeaten until their knockout in the round of 16.
Nigeria under the tutelage of American tactician Randy Waldrum reached the FIFA world cup Knockout stages, after achieving same feat in Paris in 2019.

The team led by team captain Onome Ebi played a barren date against Olympics medalists Canada in their opening match.
Defeated host nation Australia on Matchday 2, before drawing against the Republic of Ireland. The nine-time African champions however, suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of England’s Lionesses following a penalty shootout.
FIFA through its representatives monitoring African football, stated that it’s because of the Super Falcons that the football governing body will have to monitor payment of match bonuses of participating players.
According to FIFA, the $60,000 prize money due for the Super Falcons have been ring-fenced, hence the NFF cannot tamper it. This according to FIFA is a way of preventing the Nigeria Football Federation NFF, from tampering with players bonuses and entitlements.

A report by on Monday by Dailypost confirmed that the NFF have received the prize money from FIFA.
Players that participated in the 2023 world cup are expected to receive their full payment in the coming days.
