The Nigeria Football Federation NFF, under the leadership of Ibrahim Musa Gusau, has opened up on it won’t relief embattled coach Jose Peseiro of his duty as coach of the Super Eagles npflupdates.com reports.
The Nigeria Football Federation NFF, has confessed it’s sad over the recent form and results of the Super Eagles in the ongoing 2026 FIFA world cup qualifier games against the Crocodiles of Lesotho and Warriors Zimbabwe.

Nigeria has failed to win any of its world cup qualifier fixture; the team under the tutelage of Jose Peseiro played out a one-all draw against Lesotho last Thursday to the disappointment of fans.
The three-time African champions, also played out a one-all draw against the Warriors of Zimbabwe last Sunday, gulping just two points from a possible six in its qualifier games.
Reacting, a top NFF official told the media that the federation is not happy with the outcome of the games; and that it is ready to do the bidding of the people by sacking the Portuguese tactician.

However, the NFF said it has no money that payoff the former Sporting CP manager in case he’s relieved of his duty before the expiration of his contract.
“We are not happy with the results. If you go online people are calling for the sack of Peseiro. But if we sack him, who’s going to pay? If we have money, we would have relieved him,” the NFF official said.
Fans are since reacting on Facebook as to why Peseiro is still in charge of the Super Eagles.
In a related development, Super Eagles Midfielder Frank Onyeka remains upbeat that Nigeria has what it takes to win the AFCON in Ivory Coast.
“I think we have a good team that can go and do it. Most of the other countries, they are scared of Nigeria,” he said.
“I say that because of the squad we’ve got, we can go there and win it.
“You’ve obviously got Osimhen, Boniface, Awoniyi — they are all doing well in Europe.
“So we’ve got a good team and we can go and win.”
He continued, “We have plenty of past players who have done well for Nigeria but now for us as players, we need to focus on ourselves and as a team to do what we need to do to make our nation proud.”
Talking about pressure, the 25-year-old added, “We do [have pressure] because Nigeria is massive, we have a population of about 200 million.

“So every game, every tournament, they always expect us to win. There’s always pressure for us.
“But it’s good because you can see the country, they all watch football and they want us to do it.
“So that’s a good thing for us and motivation to do our best.”
