Nigeria’s Super Falcons will wrap up the year 2023 with a doubleheader Women’s African Cup Of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier fixtures against Cape Verde npflupdates.com reports.

Super Falcons under the tutelage of Justin Madugu overcame Ethiopian Lucy when they visited Nigeria for the return leg of the 2024 Summer Olympics qualifier. The nine-time African champions have now switched their attention to the Women’s African Cup Of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier.

The national team will welcome Cape Verde for the first leg on 30 November, 2023; and will return for the second leg on the 5th of December still in 2023.

Super Falcons witness influx of new recruit ahead of Cape Verde ties

Two important to takeaway from the national team ahead of the clash are:

First, coach Magudu while inviting some old players, have also handed some new players in the NWFL an invitation. Edo Queens Goalkeeper, Christiana Obia, Rihanat Kasali were some of the new recruits. Also, Midfielder Deborah Abiodun is making her first return to the Super Falcons after her outing at the 2023 FIFA women’s World Cup tournament in Australia and New Zealand.

Secondly, the Super Falcons is yet to have a permanent coach following the exit of Randy Waldrum, who’s contract expired last month. Coach Justin Magudu, is currently standing-in as the national team’s hear coach.
