Nigeria’s Samuel Chukwueze in Tuesday started his first ever UEFA Champions League match for AC Milan against Newcastle United npflupdates.com reports.

The Nigerian since joining the former Italian Serie A champions always start from the bench; especially in Serie A games. He however have only one start for the Italian outfit this season; and it was against Novara in a Copa Italia game.

And on Tuesday, at the San Siro, Samuel Chukwueze was handed his first ever major start for the Rosseneri. He was very instrumental for Milan before taking on defenders and trying to contribute to Milan’s success.

However, a stubborn Newcastle United who has a former Milan player in Alessandro Tonali in their team, held their positions.

All efforts by Chuwkueze and his Milan side to secure all three(maximum) points hit the rocks, as both teams shared the spoils.

The Stefano Pioli’s boys has now gone two games after the FIFA international break without a win. Last weekend the former Serie A champions, suffered a huge 5-1 defeat to city rivals Inter Milan.

And today, they fail to take a step right by returning to winning ways, despite dominating a better part of the keenly contested tie. Recorded a total of 25 shots on goal, with 9 hitting the target. They completed a total of Four Hundred and Four(404) passes, and possessing the ball 53% at full-time.

Reacting to the result of the game, NPFLUpdates in-house analyst Mr Best, agreed that Samuel Chukwueze is on a step in the right direction.

Samuel Chukwueze will come good, analyst drums support

“For him(Chuwkueze), he’s on the right path. It’s not always easy for players to adapt so quickly to teams and patterns after moving from a club to another. Especially moving to a very tough league like the Serie A. He’s going to come good, just more game time is need,” he said.

However, the attention of the Milan-based team has now been shifted to Italian Serie A game against Verona on Saturday.

Samuel Chukwueze will hope to get his second consecutive start at the San Siro.
