FIFA U-20 : Ladan Bosso Drop Inter Milan WonderKid

Flying Eagles head coach, Ladan Bosso has dropped Inter Milan WonderKid Ebenezer Akinsanmiro from his squad for the FIFA U-20 World Cup tournament.

The exclusion of the teenager from the nationa team squad was confirmed by Football Live on Monday.

And according to the report, the reason for the action by Bosso was orchestrated by Inter Milan. The Italian giants said it can only release the player one week to the tournament. And that gesture didn’t go down well with Bosso, who wanted him in camp two at least weeks to kickoff.

So, the current situation will mean change of plans for the tactician, who already has a task for the kid.

Also, another foreign-based invitee,  Arsenal Teenager Joel Ideho snubbed Flying Eagles invitation.

And according to Bosso, neither the kid nor Arsenal replied an official invitation forwarded to them by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.

“I have no word from him or Arsenal,” Bosso told Owngoal Nigeria.

“So, I guess he isn’t coming with us to the World Cup. The invitation letter was sent and a follow u. Buy Arsenal didn’t reply any of the letters officially sent to them.”

“We have to plan with what we have and wish him well,” he concluded.

Nigeria at the FIFA U-20 world cup is in the same group with Dominican Republic, Italy and five-time champions Brazil. And the group according to football punters, is regarded as the ‘group of death’.

Nigeria will have its first fixture against Dominican Republic at the Estadio Malvinas Argentinas in the city of Mendoza.

And two days later, the Ladan Bosso boys will take on Italy, still at the same venue. And they will finally end their group game fixture against perennial rival Brazil.

A win against Dominican Republic will boost the team’s chances of survival out of the Group.

The FIFA U-20 World Cup tournament will hold between 20 may and 11 June 2023.
