According to a report by Goal, the rising Arsenal star has signed a scholarship deal with the north London club for next season; and as a result has already trained with the first-team.
Chidozie Obi may be nurturing and as well have an eye on breaking into Mikel Arteta’s elite squad after fellow Nigerian and playmaker Ethan Nwaneri became the youngest ever Premier League player when he came off the bench at Brentford last season at the age of 15 years, five months and 28 days.
Chidozie Obi may not beat that feat yet, but hasn’t died the idea and dream of making a first-team debut at some point. He could be the next success story from the club’s much-heralded academy.
Chidozie Obi still eligible for the Super Eagles of Nigeria
Obi as much he is eligible to represent Denmark in international football is also eligible to represent both Nigeria and England. However, he’s already represented both Denmark and England ik age-grade football, but is yet to make any senior team debut; which means Nigeria can still snap him up later in the future.
In another story, Stade de Reims combative midfielder Marshall Munetsi says his side will capitalize on Super Eagles weak points to defeat them.
According to the midfielder, Nigeria’s activity congestion and lack of rest is an added advantage which the Warriors of Zimbabwe will capitalize on.
“It’s going to be a good challenge against Nigeria and I’m sure it will be a game of fine margins,” Munetsi told the Herald.
“They played on Thursday and didn’t have much time to recover, so we can use that to our advantage.
