Super Eagles player Stephen Eze opens up on how playing the in Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL, shaped his career; npflupdates.com reports.
Eze started his career in the NPFL where the represented some clubs before sojourning abroad in 2018.

According to the former Lobi Stars game-changer, the quality of the NPFL help prepared him for the journey abroad.
Since departing Nigeria, Eze has played in Europe and Asia. And he believed, the mental toughness attached to the NPFL is a characteristic he’s leveraged on.
What Stephen Eze said about his experience while in the NPFL
“For me, the NPFL was the process for my growth,” the defender told PUNCH Sports Extra.
“The mental toughness and all the stress that comes with travelling for games and training made me who I am today. I got help during my time and also those with the young players of now should help them to be mentally strong because football is not only about talent. You need discipline, hard work and mental toughness to survive abroad.”
Since winning the Bulgarian cup with Lokomotiv Plovdiv; Eze has played for a number of clubs in Europe(NK Solin, Queens of South) and for clubs in India and Vietnam.
Speaking about the quality of fixtures in the Indian Super League where he currently ply his trade, the former NK Solin man stated it’s competitive unlike what’s been perceived outside.
“For my team here in India, I am doing my best to see we get to the playoffs of the final six teams at the end of the season.

“The level here is okay based on the foreign players and some locals too who are doing great, you know when people hear India they think the league is not challenging. It is tough here because too many good foreign players do come to play here in India,” the 31-year-old noted.
