Born in Dusseldorf Germany to Nigerian and Irish parents, Nnamdi Collins reveal he’s not yet considering a senior debut for the German national team.
The Eintracht Frankfurt player is representing Germany in age-grade football; but he’s not eyeing a senior debut.
According to the 20-year-old bullish defender; it will be a privilege to play international football for Germany. But it’s not yet in his 2025 Christmas wish list. He revealed his interest in developing himself and playing in the U-21 European Championship.
Does the Super Eagles stand a chance with Nnamdi Collins?
“It would be a lie if I said otherwise because the dream of playing for the national team really drives me,” Collins told Sky Germany and was quoted by PUNCH Nigeria.
“If one day I had the opportunity to help the national team on the big stage, who wouldn’t be happy? As a child, I always dreamed about it and it was always one of my goals back then. It’s not on my Christmas wish list for next year, because I want to win the next few games and be part of the U-21 European Championship and play a good European Championship. Those are the next steps and goals that I want to achieve. All in all, the national team is of course a wish and dream of mine.”
Reacting to claims that he is on Nagelsmann radar, he added, “I didn’t know anything about it myself and had only read about it. I’m not conceited about it or thinking about it in any way now. I think from game to game, always want to win, always give it my all and help my team. Whatever comes in the future, comes, maybe it will come sooner, maybe later or maybe not at all. But I don’t want to put myself under pressure. I want to be in the momentum first and give it my all and win games and then we’ll see what the future brings.”
