Super Falcons will come up against Sao Tome and Principe’s women next week in a 2024 WAFCON qualifier npflupdates.com reports.
The Super Falcons will be hoping to qualify for the biennial tournament. And that will provide them with an opportunity of trying to clinch it’s tenth title.

Yesterday, officials of the national team released a 23-player squad for the must-win match.
Here are three things to take away from the released Super Falcons squad:
First, a handsome number of home-based players were invited for the tie. And they are: Monle Oyono, Comfort Folorunsho, Chiamaka Okuchukwu, and Opeyemi Ajakaye.
Interestingly, the outing will be their first with the national team. Meanwhile, defender Ashleigh Plumptre, who recently signed for Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ittihad Ladies, was not listed in the list. Some speculated she’s just recovering from sickness, and also trying to settle down to life in Saudi Arabia.

Secondly, some big players which are part of the team at the recently concluded 2023 FIFA women’s world cup tournament in Australia and New Zealand, are missing.
And such big names are: Desire Oparanozie(retired), Francesca Ordega, Uchenna Kanu, Yetunde, Deborah Abiodun.
And finally, the Super Falcons at the moment do not have a contracted head coach. However, npflupdates.com reported that contract extension talks is ongoing between the Nigeria Football Federation NFF, and representatives of Randy Waldrum.
