Super Falcons reach final of 2024 Olympics qualifier

The Super Falcons of Nigeria are set to take on South Africa(Bayana Bayana) in a two-match 2024 Olympics qualifier series; npflupdates.com reports.

The Super Falcons entertain South Africa in the initial encounter slated for April 5 at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

Interestingly, the return leg is scheduled for April 9, will take place at the prestigious Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.

The winner of the crucial tie will secure one of Africa’s two tickets to the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament.

Recall, Nigeria’s Super Falcons last participated in the Olympics since 2008. And the nine-time African champions is yet to win gold at the games. Beating South Africa will give coach Randy Waldrum’s ladies a chance of winning gold this edition.

Forward Asisat Oshoala, winger Rasheedat Ajibade and Goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie were part of the notable names in the squad.

Also, fans favourite, Michelle Alozie, Saudi-based Ashleigh Plumptre also made the list.
