Super Eagles and Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has witnessed a fall in his value following a poor 2022/2023 season.
Wilfred Ndidi, is arguably Nigeria’s most combative period in the last five years. And is a one time most sought-after midfielder in world football.

Ndidi joined Leicester City few seasons ago from KRC Genk in the Belgian Pro League. And then, he was saddled with the responsibility of filling the vacuum left by N’golo Kante, who joined Chelsea in 2017. And upon his arrival, Ndidi with the aid of his compatriot Kelechi Iheanacho, integrated himself into the team’s staring XI.
Last two season, Ndidi was in the heart of the Leicester City’s midfield, helping them win or draw difficult games. Because of his versatility and combative abilities, the 26-year-old helped the Foxes qualify and feature in a UEFA competition during the 2021/2022 season.
But, last season isn’t very good for the midfielder; starting most of his games from the bench. Also suffered from what seemed like a career-ending injury; and was out of actions for weeks. However, he managed to recover in time, and features 27 times for the former English Premier League, EPL Champions.
But, his return to action couldn’t save Leicester City from relegation to the English Skybet Championship.

Shockingly, following the relegation, Ndidi’s market value according to Transfermarket witnessed a free fall from €60M to €25M.
The midfielder has one year left on his contract, and may decide to run it out at the King Power stadium next season before probably leaving as a free agent. But, reports from Scotland, has it that Celtic manager, Brendan Rodgers is interested in reuniting with the Nigerian.

Rodgers and Ndidi spent a couple of seasons together at Leicester City, and reunion is being predicted to be fruitful. But Celtic must meet the club’s asking price before the proposal can be be effected.
