Nigeria elite referee Yemisi Akintoye will be officiating in the 2023/2024 CAF women’s champions League npflupdates.com reports.
Yemisi Akintoye has been selected for the 2023 African Women’s Champions League which will be taking place in Cote d’Ivoire from Nov. 5 to Nov. 19 as posted on X by the Vanguard Nigeria.

A University of Lagos graduate arbiter, Yemis Akintoye was one of the 17 referees shortlisted across Africa. Also she was one of the successful 12 selected after an intensive one-week pre-tournament course.
Yemisi Akintoye to officiate at CAF women’s champions League
A statement on the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Monday confirmed Akintoye’s participation. She will officiate alongside other referees at the 2023 African Women’s Champions League.
Based on the statement, Yemisi Akintoye would be officiating alongside Salma Musaganda of Rwanda who was the first African woman Referee to officiate at the men’s World Cup.
It’s important to note that News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that Akintoye was badged as a FIFA Referee in two years ago(2021).

Interestingly, she has been at a few international competitions which include, the WAFU Women Champion’s League. And also the maiden edition of Aisha Buhari Tournament, among others.
In another story, Akinade Onigbinde, head coach of Doma United, attributed his side’s victory against City rivals Gombe United to having enough rest.
According to the tactician, the midweek rest afforded the Savannah Tigers time to perfect their tactics ahead of the matchday seven encounter.
Doma United thrashed Gombe United 3-0 at the Pantami Stadium on Sunday.
