2 Important Inclusions In Super Falcons Squad For Cameroon Olympics Qualifier Bout

The Super Falcons will return to action against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon next week after seeing out Ethiopia few weeks ago; npflupdates.com reports.

The Super Falcons is charging to qualify for its first ever Olympic outing in sixteen(16) years. The team saw out competition from the Ethiopian Lucy last year, and will now face Cameroon next week Friday, 23 February, 2024.

Super Falcons squad list for Olympics qualifier

Two important new inclusions can be observed in the team, as they look set to secure a crucial first leg victory.

First, Tochukwu Jiwaku, and Akudo Ogbonna are the only homebased players that made the squad for the Cameroon clash.

And while Tochukwu plays for Bayelsa Queens as a goalkeeper, Akudo is contracted with Remo Stars ladies and plays as a defender.

Secondly, American coach Randy Waldrum returns as Super Falcons coach for the first time since after the 2023 FIFA women’s world cup in Australia and New Zealand. The Pittsburgh Steelers coach, was out of contract with the NFF, but has agreed to terms and signed an extension.

Recall, the absence of Randy Waldrum, Justin Magudu who was Super Falcons stand-in coach did great, remaining unbeaten in three outings.

In another development, Super Falcons defender, Michelle Alozie donated football kits to grassroot footballers in Surulere, Lagos State.

According to the defender, the gesture is a way of giving to the community, from the little God has given to her.
