Super Eagles  gigantic forward Paul Onuachu may just be on his way out of Southampton after he was allegedly deemed surplus by coach Martin Russell.
Martin is the new head coach of the championship side; replacing Reuben Selles. And it seems he has hit the ground running by trying to bring in new players; and of course let those he deemed surplus leave.
Few days ago, the gaffer announced his squad for the pre-season tour in Turkey. And shockingly, Paul Onuachu wasn’t included in the squad. Hence fueling Speculations he may leave the St. Mary’s stadium this summer.

The Super Eagles forward joined to English outfit last winter transfer window in January. And with his arrival, fans are hoping he would help the club avoid relegation following his antecedents in Belgium. Before switching to England, Paul Onuachu was the highest scoring striker in the Belgian Pro League with sixteen goals. Sadly, he failed to register one goal for Southampton in over ten appearances.
However, the striker is optimistic he would come good next season despite the division his club will be competing in. But following Martin’s statement, it seems he may not spend another season on English soil just yet.
What was said about Super Eagles forward Paul Onuachu
“We have a couple of injuries which is why people are back where they are; nothing major at all,” Martin told the media.
“There’s no point bringing them here when they can get really good rehab there. They should all be available for next week. The squad is too big.”
“Also we have added two players who are going to be brilliant for us. There will be people leaving.

“Whilst they are here, they have been brilliant despite external stuff going on. The noise and what people’s agent want them to do or how they want them to behave.”
However, any club that will get the signature of the former FC Ebedei marksman will cough out to around €13M, as valued by Transfer Market.
Meanwhile, a move to Germany may be positive for the former KRC Genk forward, with Hertha Berlin and Stuttgart interested in his services.
Due to Onuachu’s poor form at the second-half of the season, he was dropped from the Super Eagles squad against Sierra Leone. But he’s expected to bounce back to good form, and return to action in Super Eagles colours.
