Davide and Samuel Chukwueze shared the same locker room back in 2017 when the Nigeria signed for Villarreal from a Nigerian football academy.
According to Davide, Samuel is a very strong player, who has the potentials of becoming the best in whatever environment he’s found himself in.
The Pro Patria forward in an interview with Lacasadic, took no time in acknowledging his admiration for the Super Eagles star.
The Italian told Lacasadic as reported by Pulse Sports on X, that while in Spain with Villarreal CF, he had the opportunity of training with the club’s main team. But was so unlucky that he couldn’t make a debut for the former UEFA Europa League champions.

“I tried to learn as much as possible. There was also Chukwueze, who among other things is the strongest player I’ve ever played with so far in my career,” he said.
According to Davide, he was already with Villarreal’s Primavera when Samuel Chukwueze arrived. But they didn’t get to stay together for a long time, as the Nigerian was promoted to the senior team almost a year later.
“He arrived in Villarreal when I was in the Primavera. We started together, then within a year he climbed the categories and reached the first team,” the 24-year-old said.
“Samuel is a golden boy, always with a smile on his face. It’s not easy at Milan, he finds himself in a completely different environment, but I think that as soon as he gets used to the team and Italian football,” he continued.
In addition to what he’s already said, the Italian forward, highlighted that Chukwueze can reach the top, and has nothing to fear about.
Chuwkueze currently at Milan plays a second fiddle to Portuguese winger Rafael Leao and American playmaker Christian Pulisic. He’s endured a hard start to life in Italy, failing to score any Serie A goals in over five appearances for the former Italian champions.
