The Nigeria Football industry has been throwing into mourning Monday morning after the demise of Legendary Super Falcons ex-coach Ismaila Mabo was reported.
Mabo no doubt, is arguably the best coach the Super Falcons of Nigeria must have had in history. He was the first and only coach(for now) to help the national women’s team reach a FIFA World Cup quarter-final; he achieved this feat when he traveled with the women to the mundial in 1999.
Due to his experience and enormous qualities, Mabo was saddled with the responsibilities of taking charge of the women’s Olympic team. He qualified and took the team to the Summer Olympic games of 2000 and 2004.

Super Falcons’ Ismaila Mabo Dies After Brief Illness:
According to sources the ex-international, Mabo died at his residence in Jos, the Plateau State Capital on Monday morning. Mabo was said to have been battling with a prolonged illness emanating shortly after the death of his beloved wife.
In his time, he was the team captain of Mighty Jets football club. Mighty Jets is a football outfit based in Jos, Plateau State. He also had a brief stint with the Nigeria National team.
The funeral prayers for the legend will hold today(Monday) at his resident by friends and well Wishers.
Aged, 78, he is survived by his children and relatives. May his soul rest in peace.
Since the news of his death broke, many Nigerians who have been sending their condolences to the family. Especially those affected directly or indirectly by the actions of the legend.
Shockingly, at the time of writing this report, no official condolence message has been issued by the NFF. Some officials of the Nigeria Football Federation we tried reaching through phone calls are not responding.
Maybe in the nearest future, the Nigeria football governing body will issue a statement in that regards.
