Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro will have to deal with a fresh injury to his striker Terem Moffi with less than three weeks to 2023 African Cup Of Nations (AFCON) npflupdates.com reports.
Peseiro according to reports last weekend will be without striker OG Nice forward Terem Moffi for the AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast.

Moffi due to a hamstring injury was ruled out few hours to OG Nice’s last weekend Ligue 1 game against Le Havre.
The French club announced on their X handle that the Super Eagles goal-poacher was not included in the match-day squad after he suffered the injury hours before their game.
Peseiro to look inwards as he seek to find Moffi’s replacement
The 24-year-old according to reports will have to spend at least four weeks on the sideline, and that will of course jeopardize his chances of being at the AFCON. Of course, he will not be part of the Super Eagles camping in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) ahead of the AFCON.
Having appeared in all the club’s games in the 2023/2024 season the former FC Lorient forward was on the verge of making his 16th start of the season before picking up the injury.

“Affected in the ischios, Terem Moffi does not appear on the match sheet, just like Teddy Boulhendi and Daouda Traoré,” the club wrote.
Peseiro will now have to look inwards to find a perfect replacement for the forward as he is expected to execute at least a semifinal finish at the biennial tournament.

Peseiro saw his team seeded in Group A alongside host nation Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau. Nigeria will kick-off their campaign against Guinea-Bissau on the 14th of January 2024.
