A former Super Eagles winger, Osaze Odemwingie has opened on his revelation ahead of the 2013 African Cup Of Nations AFCON tournament in South Africa npflupdates.com reports.
Osaze wasn’t part of the Super Eagles team that won Nigeria’s third AFCON title in 2013, as he was left out by then coach, late Stephen Keshi.

In a recent interview with Championat, the former Stoke City winger, revealed how he dreamt about the welfare of the Super Eagles ahead of the AFCON.
Osaze Odemwingie talks about his 2013 AFCON revelation
Per his confession, he dreamt on how his then fellow Super Eagles teammate, Taiye Taiwo had lifted the AFCON championship. Unfortunately, neither nor Taiwo made it to the 2013 AFCON, which Nigeria subsequently won.
Osaze told championat.com: “Before Nigeria’s victory at the African Cup, I dreamed that Taiye Taiwo (he then played for Milan) lifted the trophy. Neither he nor I were on that team, but Nigeria won the tournament.”
In a similar story, Super Eagles combative midfielder Frank Onyeka reveals the need for supporters at the AFCON.
According to the former FC Midtjylland midfielder, fans of the Super Eagles aren’t happy with their current performances, due to their poor form. Nigeria last month, drew it’s first two 2026 world cup qualifier fixtures against Lesotho and Zimbabwe. A result which left fans dejected and unforthcoming as it concerns the national team.
“I know our fans are frustrated because of our performance but we still need their support ahead of the AFCON,” the Brentford midfielder said.
“The draws we had in the last two games is something we need to learn from.

“African teams are not easy to play against and it’s something that we need to prepare ourselves mentally and physically for ahead of the AFCON. We know what it takes to win the AFCON.”
Nigeria will hear towards a fourth AFCON title in 2024. They were seeded in the same Group A as host nation Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau.
