Super Eagles interim coach Finidi George breaks silence for the first time after losing second game in charge; npflupdates.com reports.
Finidi was in charge when Nigeria failed to record its second consecutive victory post 2023 AFCON tournament.

Recall, the Super Eagles defeated Ghana 2-1 earlier this month to record its first victory over the Black Stars since 2006.
Speaking to the media after the loss to Mali, Finidi remained upbeat his players were positive.

According to the former Real Betis winger, Super Eagles inability to convert their chances led to the defeat.
“It was not a bad game. Good intensity, we created a couple of chances, but didn’t score. And in a game like this, if you don’t score and you make mistakes, you will be punished,” the former AFC Ajax Amsterdam winger said.
“I’m happy with the way the boys played and it is quite positive,” he stated.
In a related story, defender Kenneth Omeruo reveals the next ambition of the Super Eagles post Mali loss.
According to Omeruo, the Super Eagles will continue their quest for a place at the mundial with two key fixtures against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa and Squirrels of Benin Republic in June.
The former Chelsea defender, reckoned it is important for the Super Eagles to qualify for the World Cup after missing out the last edition held in Qatar 2022.

“June is only a few weeks away. We are focused on the matches against South Africa and Benin Republic,” Omeruo was quoted by thenff.com.
“Many players in the group have not played at the World Cup before and they see this as the big opportunity to be there. We cannot afford to let ourselves and the nation down.”
