A former Super Eagles international, Emmanuel Amunike, has welcomed the idea of becoming the senior national team manager in the nearest future.
In his prime Amunike was was part of the Super Eagles squad that won the 1994 AFCON tournament held in Tunisia.
The lucrative winger also in 1994 was awarded the Confederation of African Football(CAF) Best Player following his exploits in Egypt with El Zamalek.
The 52-year-old has worked on several occasions for the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF). And he has served twice as an assistant to some coaches of the Super Eagles.
And in 2015, Amunike was in charge of the Golden Eaglets(U-17) team. So, he took them to and won the FIFA U-17 W’Cup tournament in Peru.

In 2018, the former FC Barcelona winger, was recruited by the Tanzania Football Federation to work in the capacity as the national team manager. He employed his experience and qualified the team for the AFCON in Egypt 2019.
And speaking about his intentions for Nigeria, the Olympic Gold medalist, confirmed he won’t turn down the opportunity when it comes calling.
What Amunike said about Super Eagles:
“I’ve never coaches the Super Eagles, I’ve only gone twice to assist someone but coaching Super Eagles on my own I have not,” Amunike told

“But of course, Nigeria is my country and the national team we are all part of it. And when the opportunity comes and Nigerians feel that we can add something to the national team, of course it is a welcome development.”
In line with the assertions of the Super Eagles legend, a football analyst with Twitter name @NFootball360, pleaded with Nigerians to exercise patience with Jose Peseiro.
