Bendel Insurance : Club Debunk Transfer Rumours Of Benjamin Taminu

Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL, club Bendel Insurance has denied circulating transfer reports surrounding Benjamin Tanimu.

Days ago, reports emerged that 21-year-old defender, Benjamin Tanimu has abandoned the NPFL for a European league. According to the report, Tanimu who’s contracted with Bendel Insurance had left the club days to its CAF Confederations Cup qualifier against AS Berkane of Morocco.

But a recent statement from the club has stated otherwise. According to the statement, Tanimu is still with the club and has not signed for any abroad club.

Also, the reigning Nigeria’s FA Cup champions,urged the general public to disregard social media news. And they went ahead to describe the report as fake and misleading which should be disregarded.

Bendel Insurance debunks Benjamin Tanimu’s transfer reports

“Our attention has been drawn to the fake news circulating on social media that our central defender Benjamin Tanimu has left us for a Spanish Football club Lleida Esportu,” club official statement read.

“To put the record straight, the information saying that Tanimu has signed for Club Lleida in Spain is false and misleading. We therefore urge football lovers, Bendel Insurance FC fans and the general public to disregard social media reports.”

However, the club agreed that several clubs outside the shores of Nigeria have declared interest in the defender. But no agreement whatsoever, has been reached with it as regards the player.

“For the avoidance of doubt, several clubs in Spain, England, Germany, Serbia, Qatar and Kuwait have indicated interest in the defender. But no club including Lleida or any other club abroad has officially tables any deal nor reach agreement with Bendel Insurance FC in that regard.”

Also, the Benin-based club, confirmed in the statement that it allows Tanimu’s agent to go ahead and negotiate any personal terms with interested clubs.

But at the time of the press release, the agent has not returned any deal on the table for the club to deliberate on.

And on a final note, Bendel Insurance announced that Tanimu, is currently in camp with his teammates ahead of their CAFCC qualifier.
