Bendel Insurance today were held to a 2-2 draw at the Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin by RS Berkane of Morocco. And the CAF Confederations Cup preliminary rounds fixture, witnessed a huge turnout of fans.
Bendel Insurance took the lead through an Imade Osarenkhoe strike, just two minutes before the half-hour mark. And of course creating an atmosphere of jubilation.
However, the reigning CAF Confederations Cup champions, restored parity in the 42nd minute through a Limaloui strike. And again sending the fans back into their seats.
At half-time it’s a 1-1 draw, with both coaches bent on making tactical changes going into the second half. Again, Insurance took the lead the second time, through defender Paul Obata’s goal.

And yet again, the visitors equalized just before the stoppage time. Insurance piled pressure on the visitors to see if they can snatch a late win, but they stood their grounds and held their positions.
Reacting to the outcome of the game, Coach Odigie, argued that what matters most is his team’s participation in the tournament.
According to the coach, the team did very well and ought to be appreciated. Of course they are one out of the two NPFL clubs representing Nigeria in the continent.

Mr. Odigie had urged reporters to arrange their questions well before throwing it at him.

“I am not asking you to, are you a tactically sound person?,” he queried a reporter asked for his opinion following his side’s draw despite leading the Moroccans twice in the game.
RS Berkane will entertain Bendel Insurance in Morocco next weekend for the reverse fixture. A barren drawn will the Nigerian team scale through to the next rounds.
