Boniface Cherish Victor Osimhen’s Partnership In Super Eagles Attack

Bayer 04 Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface expresses satisfaction in his partnership in Super Eagles attack with Napoli forward Victor Osimhen npflupdates.com reports.

Victor Boniface and Osimhen for the first since his debut for Nigeria partnered in the Super Eagles attack on last Friday’s international friendly against the Green Falcons of Saudi Arabia.

Boniface in AFCON qualifier fixture against Sao Tome and Principe last month was handed his Super Eagles debut, thanks to his top form at Bayer Leverkusen, where he currently has seven goals and two assists in seven Bundesliga games.

The 22-year-old in a post-match interview after Saudi friendly told reporters that he “feel good” playing with Osimhen.

“I feel good playing with him (Osimhen), really happy playing together. It is a long journey and I feel proud,” the former Bodø and Glimt forward said.

According to former Royale Union Saint Gilloise forward, he had a good game, although the outcome wasn’t what Nigerians and expected.

“It was a good game. Unfortunately, we did not get the result we hoped for but it is a training game preparing us for the tournaments ahead of us. We knew we were playing a good side with a very experienced coach but it is preparation so we keep working,” he continued.

Speaking further, the 2022/23 UEFA Europa League top scorer confessed that the Super Eagles have eyes fixed on 2026 world cup qualification.

He highlighted the difficulties in bringing players from different leagues together to work as a team. But was upbeat that the Portuguese tactician Jose Peseiro is equal to the task and can get the best out of his team.

“We are looking at the W’Cup qualification game first, then after that, we look into the Nations Cup. You can say we have really good individual team, we are always bringing the best from different leagues so you can say it takes time for us to really build something which we are working on but I think on the long run, we can actually achieve our aims,” he added.

Nigeria will today exchange tackles with the Mambas of Mozambique in Portimao, as they hope to end it’s fifteen (friendly) match without a win.
