Super Eagles defender Bruno Onyemaechi, has opened up on desire to become team’s first choice Left-back npflupdates.com reports.
Bruno Onyemaechi had his Super Eagles debut last Sunday during a dead-rubber AFCON qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe. The 24-year-old started the game and also a full blown 90 minutes of action.
He was so impressive on Sunday that opposition forwards feared and boycotted his position. Bruno is very attacking minded, and also defense conscious player; who can as well play as defensive midfielder.
In an interview with the media, the former CD Feirense defender, disclosed his intentions of becoming a regular for the national team. It may seem difficult with the likes of Zaidu Sanusi (FC Porto) and Jamilu Collins (Cardiff City) still in contention. But Bruno is prepared for the task ahead of him.
“It’s good that we have good players in the team. Everyone has to fight for their place, Onyemaechi told Completesports.com.

“I will keep working hard to make sure I play on a regular basis for the Super Eagles. It will be great to start regularly.”
In a related development, Victor Osimhen is elated with his nomination for the 2023 Ballon d’Or award. According to the Napoli forward, it’s a dream come true for him. And also a big honour for him and his family at large.
Osimhen was part of the 30-man list releases by the organizers of the award. Other players of African extraction included in the list are Morocco’s Yassine Bouno, and Mohammed Salah of Egypt.
“I must say it is a dream come true for me. It is a big honour for me and my family,” Osimhen told reporters in Uyo.
According to the former VFL Wolfsburg forward, he has worked so hard and anticipated such a moment.
“I have worked so hard for a moment like this and I must say it is a reward for all the years of hard work and dedication.”

Meanwhile Super Eagles, Jose Peseiro, appreciated the indigenous people of AkwaIbom, and Governor Umo Eno for his support to the Super Eagles.
AkwaIbom state government ensured the Super Eagles witnessed a filled stadium by gifting free stadium tickets to fans.
“I’ll like to say congratulations to the people and Government of Akwa Ibom because I see today was a fantastic atmosphere,” Peseiro said in a post-match interview.
“The fans were fantastic today, I say thank you. I like the people here, everything provided for us was good.”
Speaking further, the Portuguese tactician, appreciated his players for playing with maximum commitment despite facing a weaker opponent.
