CAF : I Will Tell Tinubu To Ensure Nigeria Hosts A FIFA World Cup – Motsepe

Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Dr. Patrice Motsepe looks forward to witnessing an African nation host a FIFA world cup tournament in the future; npflupdates.com reports.

CAF President, said he looks forward to having an African nation host a FIFA world cup tournament.

The Mamelodi Sundowns executive told reporters in Abidjan on Friday afternoon that he will influence Nigeria President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on hosting the tournament.

According to the football Executive, since President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be coming to watch Nigeria play Ivory Coast on Sunday’s 2023 AFCON final; he’d talk to him about Nigeria hosting the tournament.

“I know the president of Nigeria is coming for the final, I’ll ask him to put in a bid for Nigeria to host the World Cup (smile),” the CAF President said.

On the other hand, Dr Motsepe, talked about the exodus of African players moving away from the shores of the continent in search of greener pastures.

According to Motsepe, players of African extractions, should be allowed to move to any league of their choice where they are comfortable with the earnings.

“We need to encourage our players(Africans) to leave for where the money is better. If the money is better at home, you stay, if it’s elsewhere, you go there.”

In another development, Super Eagles head coach José Peseiro reveals his new found tactics of winning matches suffered against South Africa during a semi-final match last Wednesday.

“Around 90 minutes, I see that our team suffered, we were shaken, we lost the balance.

“They are a very good team, they created a lot of problems for us, they did a fantastic job but I think our boys deserved to win,” Peseiro said.
