A former Super Eagles goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, has made public his intentions of becoming a goalkeeper coach in the Super Eagles set-up.
NPFLUpdates understand that the goalkeeper who’s a coach in France is willing to return to Super Eagles. But, this time, as a goalkeeper coach and trainer.
In his prime, Enyeama made his debut for the Super Eagles of Nigeria in May 2002. That same year, he was selected by the team for the FIFA World Cup tournament in Korea-Japan. But he joined the senior national side as a backup goalkeeper for Ike Shorunmu.
He is a master of set pieces, scoring goals from penalty kicks and in open plays. And was the highest goal-scoring African goalkeeper in history, scoring 20 goals in 521 games for clubs.
Enyeama was the Captain of the Super Eagles team that won Nigeria her third AFCON championship. Nigeria beat Burkina Faso in South Africa to win the covetous prize in 2013(ten years ago).

In 2013/2014 season, the 40-year-old while playing for Lille, had a club record of 11 cleansheets. He was 114 minutes behind Gaëtan Huard, who had a record of going 1,176 minutes without conceding a goal in 1993.
In 2017/2018 season, the former CAF Champions League winner, didn’t make any appearance for Lille. Because he had a misunderstanding with the club’s management.
In 2019/2020, he joined another French side FC Dijon on a trial. But was given an offer, after failing to impress the management. He took up a coaching job at Iris Club de Croix Football.
Speaking to NPFLUpdates correspondent, a source close to the player confirmed he’s willingness to coach Nigeria.

Enyeama Explains Reason To Coach In Nigeria:
“He’s ready to coach Nigeria. We all know he’s a dedicated Nigerian, who puts his country first before himself,” the source said
“The problem is whether the authorities will agree to hire him. At least in his time with the team, they know how dedicated and committed he was. And believe me, his experience is worth exploring.
“He’s currently at Iris Club de Croix, as a coach. He’s developing on daily basis; and I think now is the time to snap him up.”
