Tosin Adarabioyo confirms he's not yet ready for Nigeria

Fulham defender Abdul-Nasir Tosin Adarabioyo has made public his intentions of switching his attentions to Nigeria later in the future.

The 25-year-old last month was rumoured to have been in the 25-man list of Super Eagles for the AFCON qualifier. The Super Eagles entertained Guinea-Bissau in a doubleheader AFCON qualifier matches, winning one and losing another.

Tosin Adarabioyo was born in Manchester, England, to Nigerian parents, and he’s the youngest of three brothers.

He’s eligible to represent Nigeria through his parents, and England through his place of birth. But it seems the defender, has chosen the Three Lions over the Super Eagles.

Speculations spread last year when the Nigeria Football Federation NFF, Technical Director, Austin Egueavoen traveled to England to watch Tosin. The former international was at the Selhurst Park to see Fulham take on Crystal Palace in an EPL fixture.

According to the speculation, there were talks between Nigeria-English players, Eberechi Eze, Tosin and Olise, and Egueavoen. Concerning them switching their allegiances for Nigeria.

However, a report by Allnigeriasoccer.com confirmed that Tosin is not considering a Nigeria switch yet.

According to the report, a representative of the defender, Gbolahan Adarabioyo said his client is not yet ready for Nigeria. Gbolahan is the elder brother of Tosin. And also the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Closeview.

Gbolahan confirmed that Tosin has not switched his allegiance from England to Nigeria. But may still consider Nigeria in the future.

“The long and short of it is that he has not switched from England to Nigeria. It’s is very unlikely that he would accept an invitation to play for Nigeria this month,” Gbolahan told Allnigeriasoccer.

“That is not to say that Tosin would not consider playing for Nigeria in future. But at this moment, no.

“Augustine Egueavoen is a friend. He asked to come and watch game at Selhurst Park, not for any particular reason.”

Tosin this 2022/2023 season has featured 17 times for the London club, and scoring just once.

He’s been on the radar of top Italian clubs, Inter Milan and AC Milan. And he may move away from England to the Serie A this summer.
