Glory Ogbonna Splash N500K On Prospective Professional Footballers

Super Falcons defender, Glory Ogbonna, will be giving out a staggering sum of five hundred thousand Naira (500,000) to potential professionals in her area in Abia State npflupdates.com reports.

According to a post made by the former Falconets defender, the tournament is only meant for boys in her Local Government Area in the South Eastern state.

Over 150 footballers from 8 communities in Ovungwu, Isialangwa Local Government Area, Abia State, Nigeria have registered for the Glory Ogbonna Men’s Football competition.

According to a flyer for the competition, the one week tournament is set to hold from 22 October to 29, 2023.

With the tournament the Super Falcons defender intends to give back to her society from the little God has given her.

Based on the statement of the organisers, the tournament is aimed at encouraging sports among the youths, as well as strengthening peace and unity amongst participating communities.

The winner of the competition will go home with a staggering sum of N250,000 ( Two hundred and fifty thousand naira); while the second and third position will get N150,000 (One hundred and fifty thousand naria) and N100,000 (One hundred thousand naria) respectively.

There are also individual(undisclosed) awards that will be given out to the voted Best Player, Best Team and the Top Goalscorer.

The 24-year-old at age-grade football, has represented Nigeria in two U-20 World Cup tournaments in 2016 and 2018.

Last June, the former Edo Queens defender, was included in the Randy Waldrum’s squad for the 2023 FIFA women’s World Cup tournament in Australia and New Zealand.

She currently ply her trade in Turkey playing for Besiktas JK women. In the past she’s played in Sweden for Umea IK women’s, and has Alos been to the WAFCON with the Super Falcons.
