Jose Peseiro Denies New Zamalek Contract Talks

Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro denies speculations that he is holding contract talks with Egyptian giant Zamalek npflupdates.com reports.

Speculations spread last weekend that Jose Peseiro, a former Portuguese footballer is holding contract talks with Egyptian side Zamalek over a vacant coaching role at the club.

Based on the speculation, Peseiro was among the coaches that have submitted their curriculum vitae to the club’s hiring department, will be scheduled for an interview soon.

A Zamalek official told a very influential Arabic sports website Kooora that: “Jose Peseiro is among the names already nominated to lead Zamalek.

“But he does not enjoy any preference. He is just one name among many CVs on the board of directors’ table.”

According to the official; “The football administration, represented by the board of directors duo, Ahmed Suleiman and Hussein Al-Sayed, has not finished working on this file and has not settled on a specific name yet, and it is still in the study stage.”

Peseiro deny holding any contract talks with Zamalek

Denying the speculations, Peseiro who oversaw Nigeria’s last two 2026 FIFA world cup qualifier fixtures against Lesotho and Zimbabwe said his focus is only on Super Eagles.

“At the present, all my focus is on the Nigerian national team only,” he said as quoted by PUNCH Nigeria

The 63-year-old further stated that there’s no form of negotiations going between any of his representatives and officials of the club.

“There are no negotiations from Zamalek in any case and I am not thinking about anything else.”

The former Sporting CP gaffer is expected to lead Nigeria’s Super Falcons to the 2023 AFCON tournament where the three-time African champions is targeting a fourth title.
