Jose Peseiro : Go For Another Coach – Udeze

Indigenous coaches are not tactical like foreign counterparts

Former Super Eagles defender Ifeanyi Udeze, has advised the Nigeria Football Federation NFF, against extending the contract of coach Jose Peseiro.

And Jose Peseiro’s contract with the NFF has ended according to a report by The PUNCH.

Also, according to sources, there are no talks of extending the Portuguese’s contract. And that’s because of reasons including but not limited to poor performances of the team under his watch.

Under Jose Peseiro, the Super Eagles had their worst run in more than three decades. Losing four straight games, including a loss to Guinea-Bissau in Abuja.

And also, Peseiro’s salary is seriously considered as the federation is looking to cut cost by looking for a coach for smaller salary. Because, Peseiro currently earns $70,000 monthly

Giving his thoughts on the contract extension of the former Sporting CP gaffer, Udeze asked the NFF to look elsewhere.

NFF should snub Jose Peseiro and look for nother coach

“I think the NFF should go for a new coach instead of renewing Peseiro’s contract,” Udeze was quoted by The Punch Nigeria.

According to the former Westbromich Albion defender, Peseiro ought to perform excellently with the array of stars in the team.

Indigenous coaches are not tactical like foreign counterparts

“When you come to coach a team like the Eagles and from the first day you are giving us the impression that you will win the Nations Cup. And also qualify us for the World Cup but things are looking different, it seems somehow to me.

“I don’t even think NFF has the money to renew Peseiro’s contract or employ any other foreign coach and that is a big issue. I don’t think the money is there to do all that for now. But we will see how it goes and the ball is in their court. But let’s just sit and watch for now to see what they are going to do, but renewing Peseiro’s contract should be out of it.”

Next month, Nigeria will look to qualify for the next edition of AFCON when they take on Sierra Leone and Sao Tome and Principe.

  1. Is Pasero alone that earn that $70 000 dollars are it’s share among you peoples? I don’t see any reason while he should earn that type of salary. What’s is his record?
