Maduka Okoye : I’m 100 Percent Ready For A Super Eagles Return

A former Sparta Rotterdam goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye expresses readiness to return to the Super Eagles after a lengthy spell away from the team; reports.

Maduka Okoye last endured a time with the Super Eagles of Nigeria last year when the team camped in Portugal for friendly matches between the Green Eagles of Saudi Arabia and Mozambique national team.

He was an unused substitute in the two matches, as he Cyprus-based goalkeeper Francis Uzoho maintained his first choice role.

However, Maduka Okoye ha established himself as Udinese Calcio’s first choice Goalkeeper since he joined the club from English championship outfit Watford FC.

Even, he recently made the Italian Serie A team of the week, following his impressive performances.

What Maduka Okoye said about a return to the Super Eagles

Talking about his recent form, the former Fortuna Duselldorf goalie, revealed his ready for a Super Eagles return.

According to the Germany-born professional, the Super Eagles is a very “important thing” for him, as he anticipates a quick return to national duties.

“I’m very well now. I feel 100%. The national team is an important thing for me and I want to return soon as possible. It was hard watching the Africa Cup of Nations from home, but this is football”, Okoye told the official website of Udinese and was quoted by Owngoal Nigeria.

In a related story, goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali denies speculations linking him away from Chippa United.

According to the former Enyimba FC goalkeeper, he hasn’t gotten any offer from any European club.

Nwabali established himself as Nigeria’s new hero at the 2023 AFCON following his outstanding performances where he kept four cleansheets in seven games. Helping Nigeria achieve a podium finish at the biennial tournament.
