Nathan Tella : I’ve Always Been An “England Boy ” But A Super Eagle

Bayer 04 Leverkusen winger, Nathan Tella, has expressed desire to represent Nigeria through the Super Eagles internationally npflupdates.com reports.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder revealed in a recent interview that the decision to represent Nigeria was taken about four years ago.

Nathan Tella was born in England to Nigerian parents, and was bred in the United Kingdom; hence his admission of being a London boy.

“I’ve always said for the last three or four years that Nigeria is a big part of my life – even though I’ve been an ‘England boy’ from London all my life,” the player was quoted by a German publication, Bild.

Based on his testimony, it would be a dream come true if he can get a chance to be called up to the Super Eagles. Also he disclosed that his parents, friends and well wishers are already aware of his decision to snub England’s Three Lions for the Green and White colours of Nigeria.

“If I got the chance to play for Nigeria, I would be more than happy and accept it. I’ve already told my parents and friends that I would do that.”

He added, “You’re not just nominated like that, You have to work for it and earn it. I want to prove myself here if I get the chance to play. I want to develop further, help the team and the club – if a call comes for an international call-up, that would be a bonus.”

In a related story, former Super Eagles Captain Austin Jay Jay, Okocha is of the opinion that Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze can still come good for AC Milan.

Chukwueze signed for Milan from Villarreal CF after spending five seasons at the Spanish club. And has since his arrival at the San Siro, is struggling in front of goal; more sadly he’s lacking enough game time.

“He’s been outstanding in the last few years now,” Okocha told Livescore.

“He’s been faced with a new challenge and it’s all about how quickly he can adjust.”

Okocha also opined that, “Language is always important because it’s always good to be able to communicate but his talent is never in doubt.”

“I think he’s a great addition to the Milan team and I have no doubt that he will do well,” the 50-year-old added.
