Okocha Breaks Silence On Osimhen’s Transfer

A former Super Eagles Captain, Austin Jay Jay Okocha, has weighed in on the recent transfer rumours surrounding Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen has been in the news for many reasons in recent times. Sometimes, he make headlines due to his goal-scoring prowess. Most times he will be a talking point by pundits for transfer reasons.

Osimhen is the current Serie A top goalscorer with 21 goals in 23 league appearnces.

The 24-year-old is the highest scoring African in a single Italian Serie A season.

The former Lille Olympique Sport Club forward, is one goal away from equaling George Weah’s 46-goal record in Italian football.

With Manchester United and Chelsea interested in the young Nigerian, Okocha admitted that Osimhen deserved all the plaudits that he has been getting from football pundits around the world.

The former AFCON winner also want Osimhen to play on the English Premier League.

“I think he has done well,” the former Olympic Gold medalist was quoted by BBC.

“He is having a great season, and he deserves all the praise he is getting. But I think the ultimate for him is to play in the (English) Premier League which he has made clear as well.”

According to the former Bolton Wanderers Captain, what Gli Azzuri talsimnan can achieve in his career will be limitless if he continues the hardwork.

“So, following his progress, I feel what he can achieve is limitless based on the continuity of his hardwork.”

The former Wolfsburg forward arrived Nigeria Tuesday morning. He will join his Super Eagles teammates at the Abuja camp ahead of Guinea-Bissau clash.

Osimhen will be leading the attack when Nigeria face the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau.

Nigeria will welcome Guinea-Bissau at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja, this weekend for an AFCON qualifier fixture.
