And has since then, become an integral part of the team, starting games almost on ever match day. Injury tried to mar his good run of form few weeks ago, but he returned just in time to help the Tricky Trees defeat Aston Villa.
Ola Aina relishes first Nottingham Forest EPL goal
The Super Eagles defender, scored a stunner from outside the box just five minutes into the EPL fixture last weekend. The City Ground boys, held their positions before Orel Mangala netted the second goal to wrap up the afternoon.
In a post-match interview, the Nigerian stated that goal will linger in his memories for a long time.
“My goal was one to remember. I’m happy to get off the mark and help the team,” he told Sky Sports.
“We can all be proud, we stuck to the game plan, we dug in and fought for each other,” Ola Aina rounded up saying.
In another story, Super Eagles invitee, Gift Orban has threatened to leave Belgian Pro League outfit KAA Gent.
His threat can be traced to his recent bench role at the club. Gent coach, Hein Vanhaezebrouck, relegated Orban to the bench due to his poor form in front of goal since the start of the 2023/2024 season.
“I am not a player who gains confidence when he comes on,” Orban told Het Nieuwsblad and was quoted by Daily Post Nigeria.
