Napoli forward Victor Osimhen laments his drop of form in front goal after going three matches without scoring a goal npflupdates.com reports.

Osimhen has gone three matches for Napoli without scoring a goal, and it’s becoming a worry for fans and supporters. The Nigerian has failed to score against Lazio who beat Napoli 2-1 at the Stadio Olimpico, Rome, in a Serie A fixture. However, Osimhen bagged a hat-trick for Nigeria’s Super Eagles during the FIFA international break. But failed to score in a four-goal thriller that saw Genoa draw 2-2 at home with Napoli.
And on Wednesday evening in a UEFA Champions League fixture, despite being a thorn in the flesh of SC Braga’s defenders, Osimhen again failed to score. But, he cane close twice to scoring, hitting a crossbar, and missing by a whiskers from a shot outside the box.
However, owing to his contribution for his team’s victory, the former Olympique Lille forward was rewarded with the Man-of-the-match (MOTM) award.
Speaking about his drop of form in front of goal, Osimhen cited that’s strange for strikers not to score goals.

“It’s strange to end a game without scoring. I’m a striker and strikers live for goals, but it’s not something that bothers me too much because it’s already happened and I’m prepared for it,” Osimhen was quoted by UEFA’s official website.
Speaking further, the former VFL Wolfsburg forward stated that strikers do not only contribute to their teams by scoring alone. But can contribute in so many positive ways, to ensure the progress of the team.

“It’s not just with goals that you help the team and I’m always ready to help in other ways.”
In a related development, Victor was among the few Africans to be nominated for the 2023 Ballon d’Or award. Based on his statement, it’s like a dream come true for him, and a very big honour for his family.
“I must say it is a dream come true for me. It is a big honour for me and my family,” Victor was quoted by Completesports Nigeria.
“I have worked so hard for a moment like this and I must say it is a reward for all the years of hard work and dedication.”
He added, “This can only spur me to do better and get more recognition.”
And while reacting to questions on how he’d feel to win the upcoming CAF Best Player Award; he said “It [would] mean a lot, a whole lot to me,” Osimhen told Pulse.
“I remember in 2015, when I won the (CAF) Youth Player of the Year (award), you know, I saw the winner (Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang) walk up to the podium to receive it (the CAF POTY award).

“Since then, for me, it became a dream to try to be there and win something as prestigious as that.”
He added, “I think now I have a huge opportunity to actualise this dream. I’m really looking forward to it, and hopefully, it comes home.”
