Osimhen : “Life Goes On” Laurentiis Give New Reason He May Offload Striker

Napoli President Aurelio Di Laurentiis has opened on the main reason why he may have to offload Victor Osimhen even before his contract expires npflupdates.com reports.

Victor Osimhen still have two years left on his contract and has seriously been linked with a move away from the Diego Maradona Stadium.

Lucrative offers have come from abroad for the Nigerian forward, with the closest being a €120million bid from Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal. According to sources the former Saudi Pro League champions also presented a €1million per-week wage to the Nigerian forward; but the bid was turned down.

English Premier League outfit, Arsenal have also been linked to signing Osimhen; speculations has it that Arsenal want a Gabriel Jesus swap with Napoli for the Nigerian.

And in the midst of all these speculations, Osimhen who had a verbal agreement with Napoli to further extend his contract with the club, seemed to delaying the extension. Propelling Di Laurentiis to publicly acknowledge “Life goes on” in case he changes his mind.

“We verbally agreed on new deal in August, then if things change on his side… life goes on,” he said in case of Osimhen’s inability to further extend his contract.

“Victor’s contract expires in June 2025, there’s always time”.

Speaking further, the Italian businessman reminisced on selling Kalidou Koulibaly to Chelsea even when he still has a contract with the club. And that can only mean, Osimhen may be met with the same fate if he refuses an extension.

Victor Osimhen is currently injured and is expected to be out of action for at least a month; meaning he will miss Serie A fixture against Hellas Verona this weekend, and a UEFA Champions League Matchday 3 fixture against German outfit Union Berlin.

The Nigerian is yet to score for Napoli in this season UEFA Champions League, after scoring five goals last season to help Napoli reach a quarter-final.
