Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen has been trending across social media platforms since Tuesday following a trolling TikTok video(now deleted) released by Napoli npflupdates.com reports.
Osimhen in a Serie A fixture last Sunday away at Bologna was denied by the woodwork in the first half. And also missed a goal-scoring opportunity in the second-half when he failed to convert from the spot-kick.
Drama ensued between the Nigerian and his coach, Rudi Garcia, after he was substituted with less than ten minutes of normal regulation time remaining.
Osimhen was caught on camera fuming at his coach on the touchline. A source close to the player stressed that, he was only asking for introduction of more attacking players so Napoli can pile more pressure on the already retreated Bologna.
In a post-match interview, Garcia defended Osimhen’s penalty miss, stressing that even the world’s “greatest players” do miss spot-kicks.
Also, the former Al Nasr gaffer, revealed he has spoken to the Nigerian following the touchline row. He confirmed that his team is United, and whatever that exists between them stays in the locker room.
However on Tuesday afternoon, a TikTok handle belonging to Napoli, posted a video trolling Osimhen for missing the penalty against Bologna. It generated a lot of reactions from footballers, fans, celebrities, journalists, friends and well wishers; hence it was deleted after spending some couple of minutes.
Reacting to the video, Nigerian rapper, Tobechukwu Melvin Okafor, popularly known as Illbliss Oga Boss, urged Osimhen to leave the Naple-based club.

According to Illbliss, Napoli legend, Diego Armando Maradona “would turn in his grave” over what he explained as the “distasteful act of ingratitude.”
Maradona will not be happy about Napoli’s treatment on Osimhen
“Napoli… after 33 years Dude handed you the La Liga title. Even Maradona would turn in his grave at your distasteful act of ingratitude: @victorosimhen9 exit that club. Your job is done.”

Meanwhile, Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calenda, has threatened a legal action against Napoli. Calenda stressed his client will go to any length to protect his image and reputation.
“What happened today on Napoli’s official profile on TikTok platform is not acceptable. A video mocking Victor was first made public and then, but now belatedly, deleted,” Calenda said.
“A serious fact that causes very serious damage to the player and adds to the treatment that the boy is suffering in the last period between media trials and fake news.”
He added, “We reserve the right to take legal action and any useful initiative to protect Victor.”
In related development, Napoli Captain Di Lorenzo, highlighted the need for a unity and peaceful coexistence amongst Napoli players and staff.
According to the Italy international, lovers of the club should stay calm and remain focused on its objectives.
“We manage certain episodes within the locker room. These become more evident when things go wrong,” he said.
