However, the former Sporting CP coach failed to talk about the details of his renewed contract. And what his new wage will be, after taking a pay-cut to remain as Super Eagles coach.
Meanwhile, in a related development, forward Victor Osimhen has expressed desire to play alongside any assigned partner. According to the Napoli marksman, he doesn’t have a favourite partner in the attacking department.
Before Sunday match, Osimhen in the past has played alongside Odion Ighalo, Paul Onuachu Kelechi Iheanacho and others.
“For me, I don’t mind who I pair with because we’ve got amazing strikers. (Taiwo) Awoniyi is there, (Victor) Boniface is there, (Gift) Orban also, (Kelechi) Iheanacho is there also,” he told Pulse Sports in Uyo.
“So, whosoever the coach decides to pair with me or to play with any striker, I’m cool with it. For me, the team is the most important thing, before any individual player.”
Also, Super Eagles invitee, Gift Orban is excited about his invitation to the team. Orban’s invitation can not be far from his tremendous form in front of goal in Europe.
Last season he finished with over 20 league goals for KAA Gent, despite joining last January. Interestingly, he also holds the record of the fastest hat-trick in a UEFA competition.
